Dani met Yuli when they both used to live in Seattle as Au Pairs during one of their job meetings. At the time, Dani was excited to see that Yuli was not only another Black woman in their group, but an Afro-Colombiana from a city just 2 hours from Dani's hometown in Colombia. Yuli for her part thought Dani didn't like her (because Dani HATES smiling), but when Dani showed her soft, mushy interior by inviting Yuli to her birthday, she learned the truth about Dani: that she's actually the nicest woman in the world (kinda). Together they explored Seattle and really lived it up in their 20s going to the beach, dancing, and eating. Now, Yuli is so excited to take their friendship to the next level by agreeing to be Dani's Dama de Honor (Maid of Honor)!

Nikol is Dani's sister---like, her best friend. For the longest time, Nikol was inseparable from Dani. Whatever Dani did, Nikol was soon to follow. When Dani became a catechist, she did. When Dani began to learn English, Nikol did. She will ALWAYS be Dani's baby sister forever.

Dani met Sari shortly after many of her Latina friends left the U.S. to return to their home countries or elsewhere in the States. Dani was looking for a friend and found that Sari lived only four minutes away in the house of a mutual friend. Dani found a kindred spirit in Sari's proud Mexican culture to complement Dani's EVEN PROUDER Colombian culture. But one thing they shared equally was their Catholic faith. Together they began to go to Mass together and pray rosaries before.

Angela is Nico's cousin and ride-or-die. She is extremely jealous that Nico has met a girl that also has the legal name "Angela" and now she will no longer be the best Angela in Nico's life. But she's a chill girl. She "gets it." She promises. And so she offered to host Dani in her bedroom every time Dani (a.k.a Angela Sinisterra) visits Nico in California. Thanks to these sleepovers at the Gonzalez household, Angela and Dani have become soul-sisters, and enjoying their shared South American roots in Venezuela and Colombia....

Emily is Nico's baby sister. She had the pleasure of meeting Dani on the day of Nico's proposal! She even helped Nico decide on the venue beforehand and got them some late night cookies to celebrate the occasion. Since then Emily has been getting used to her new sister-in-law at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She looks forward to Dani being the newest member of the Silva Clan!

Diana and Dani met in Seattle at a beach party on a Friday. They started talking once they figured out they both were from Colombia (and both spoke Spanish), they left the party thinking they were never going to meet again. But, SURPRISE, she was a mutual friend of Yuli and ended up spending time as a friend group thereafter. She's so exicited ot be a part of Dani and Nico's special day as a bridesmaid. And she keeps the couple in her prayers.

Shortly before Dani swapped coasts and moved from Seattle to Moorestown, NJ, she reached out in an Au Pair Facebook group for anyone who might live in the area who would be down to become friends. It was there that Lushay reached out and introduced herself as a fun-loving South African chick who would be glad to make her acquaintance. When they met in Philadelphia, their connection was ELECTRIC. They enjoyed the fireworks at an UNFORGETTABLE Phillies game and ate waaaaaay too much ice cream. Over the following months, they laughed together, cried together, shopped together, and sang together in the streets of Miami. Lushay is like Dani's sister. Forever.

Thomas and Nico met during Freshman year at Thomas Aquinas College. Nico was his dorm roommate for 3 years. The two bonded over shared love of theater, movies, and improvisational, completely unnecessary exaggerations of life events. Nico was best man at Thomas' wedding and is so excited to extend the favor back to an old friend. Since College Nico has practically visited the Mazza family in Wisconsin enough times to become an honorary Italian. Mezzo forte.

Sam and Nico met in the doldrums of August 2020 when they both became Seton Teaching Fellow Missionary Catechists in the Bronx, NYC. They were assigned as roommates. The hulking physique was intimidating to Nico at first given his vertically challenged genes, but this Shakespeare-reciting, sardine-pounding, spontaneous singer won over Nico with his sincere faith and taste for beauty and truth. Since that year ended, Sam and Nico have kept in touch and started a mini-tradition of Nico making the Amtrak to Harrisburg to drink coffee in the ancestral Shaffer household and ring in the New Year with a Holy Hour, Mass, and Party together.

Solomon and Nico met in California through mutual priest-friend Father Claude serving masses as altar servers together. They lost contact over years in College, but reconnected again in NYC through overlapping friend circles. Their friendship grew more in NYC than at any time prior. He was a member of Nico's Men's Choir for a time and they've traveled together to two weddings already before this one. Nico owes Solomon a favor for rescuing Dani from Nebraska!

Silas & Nico met in NYC while going to Holy Innocents Parish together near Times Square. Mutual friends kept on trying to get them to meet until they finally did and hit it off well. Talking politics, tech, theology, or life is never far from their conversations and that friendship grew to a place where Nico had the honor of cantoring for his wedding with Lynn in Wasau, Wisconsin. Nico appreciates and thanks Silas for making the journey out here and is always inspired by this guy's vision and ambitious goals!

The definition of a "brother from another mother," Nico's cousin Rodrigo is the closest thing Nico had to a younger brother. Since early days, the two did so many things together like falling in love with Legos, Star Wars, and public service. It has been a pleasure for Nico to watch Rod pursue the law career he almost pursued himself. Every day, Rod grows into a more thoughtful, intelligent, and pious man and it is Nico's hope that he does something great in service to others one day. Going to an opera with Rod is definitely on the bucket list.

This man has a heart of gold and is an utter goof who likes to use his mind for contemplation every now and then. That's what Nico loves about him. The two have been co-hosts on a Catholic podcast together and have had many a late night chat about the ultimate life questions and how to fix America. Jack is truly one of Alabama's finest specimen, and Nico is secretly hoping that he can go to his future wedding(?) one day to have an excuse to visit Alabama!

Tony is one of those guys everyone says 'Oh, you just GOTTA meet him.' Thoughtful, charitable, and devout, this guy is a breath of fresh air in the City. Nico has enjoyed a lot of great conversations with this guy over burgers and beers this past year and hopes it only grows from here!
